Opera singer and lover of music! Ekaterina Shelehova ( Chelekhova ) began studying music when she was 3 years old. Growing up in Hamilton, Ontario, she participated in many competitions and concerts, such as the famous Kiwanis Competition where she secured first place in 2008, 2010, and in 2012. She has finished her studies in Piano, and received her diploma for ARCT in Piano Pedagogy. Since then she has moved to Milan, where she finished both her Bachelors and Masters in Voice from the Conservatory of Giuseppe Verdi. At 5 years old she recorded her first CD ” Дождичай” In Autumn 2012 she recorded her second CD “Moonlight”.
Shelehova was born in Kaliningrad, Russia in 1995. She showed an early interest in music and started singing when she was only three years old. She took singing lessons and participated in several competitions and festivals, winning the top prize in the “Russian Hopes” festival when she was six. She also recorded a CD of Russian children’s songs, Дождичай1.
She released her debut album, Moonlight, under the name Katya in 2013. The album featured songs in English, Italian, French, and Russian, showcasing her linguistic skills and vocal range. In 2014, she moved to Italy and enrolled at the Conservatorio di Milano, where she completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in opera performance. She performed several roles in Barlassina at the famous Teatro Antonio Belloni, such as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore, and Musetta in La Bohème.
In 2021, she auditioned for Italia’s Got Talent and amazed the judges and the audience with her improvised performance of an original aria.[1] She received four yeses from the judges and advanced to the next round.[2]
In 2022, she joined Era, the popular French new age group that combines Gregorian chants with modern elements. She became their lead vocalist and toured Europe with them. She also released several singles and EPs as a solo artist on streaming platforms, such as The Voice Within, Fly Away, and Dreaming of You.
